An evil eye bracelet on red string is one of the oldest good-luck charms there is, and Safe Passage keeps it simple.
Across the Mediterranean and the Middle East, the evil eye has been worn for thousands of years to turn back envy and ill wishes, while a red string tied at the wrist appears in traditions from Jerusalem to Beijing. We put the two together as a quiet wish for safe travels, wherever you're headed.
The deep red cord is braided by hand in our workshop, finished with a red tassel and a knotted slide, then wrapped through the middle in sand and red. The round charm is a brass bead with a fired clay inlay: a dark eye with a sea-green center, framed by small brick-red squares.
Size: Adjustable 5–8 in (sliding knot)
A thoughtful send-off gift for a graduate, a new mom, or anyone setting out somewhere new.

GOOD TO KNOW
What does the evil eye mean?
The evil eye is an ancient symbol found across the Mediterranean and the Middle East. It's worn as a charm to deflect envy and ill wishes, and many people see it as a sign of watchfulness and care.
What does a red string bracelet mean?
A red string on the wrist shows up in many cultures, from Kabbalah to Chinese folk tradition, usually as a symbol of protection, luck, or a bond between people. Paired with an evil eye, it's a double good wish.
Which wrist should I wear it on?
Traditions differ, so there's no single rule. Many people choose the left wrist, often described as the receiving side, but the best wrist is the one where you'll notice it.
Will the brass change color?
Brass naturally warms and darkens over time into a soft patina. If you prefer it bright, rub it gently with a soft, dry cloth.
